Hmm... and instead of working ('cause all the jobs will be shipped to China or India or wherever), we'll be paid by companies to do research online on the buying habits of consumers such as ourselves who do research online on the buying habits of consumers such as ourselves. But we'll get paid by the click, which will necessitate almost constant online surfing on the aforementioned ergonomically correct portable computers... though I suppose we could get by with Palms... In the future, we will use email to communicate with one another regarding the status of a letter we sent via the Post Office... we will be able to track its progress via the Internet as it moves from point to point in the Post Office's vast distribution channel... which in the future will all be virtual... in effect, any paper letter sent to the post office will be scanned into the database, routed through the nodes, reprinted and sealed at the other end and delivered to the recipient's mailbox... There will be no flying cars in the future. People will not wear futuristic jump suits. Christ I need a cigarette. It is quite possibly less than 50 years until we have a military dictatorship in this country vis a vis the rise of the Caesars in Rome. We are in the twilight of the Republic. Already, the executive branch is arrogating more and more power to itself. Already, we have virtual rule by the plutocracy. Those who criticize government mistakenly believe the people actually control it... There are probably less than 10,000 people in the capitalist-industrial complex who have the influence to do this... who these people are is evident by what laws favor which groups... pharmaceutical companies, agribusiness, petrochemicals, banking conglomerates, aerospace companies, insurance companies. remember this: power ALWAYS protects itself.
